River City Ransom meets Track & Field in
CRASH
'N
THE
BOYS
Street Challenge
|
Well, if Dodgeball is the successful merger of River City Ransom and a sport, then Crash 'N the Boys
is an example of merger overkill. Ya see, the graphics are fine, in fact, they stick to the RCR style
very well. The sound is also okay. But the control, the control is horrid. The Fight competition is
all throws, and tosses the RCR engine out the window; The Hurdles and Roof Jumping competitions are the
epitome' of frustration: requiring precision control that just isn't there. |
The game does have some merit though. For instance, the intro to the game fits pretty nicely, and
it's always nice to see the RCR guys in another game. (Crash looks just like Alex) There are some
shopping elements too, which are nice, and I have to admit that the Hammer Golf and Swimming competitions
had me excited for awhile. Unfortunately though, this game has twice the variety of Dodgeball, but half
the fun-factor. It's like playing a hacked Track & Field, literally.

If you're smart, you sure as hell won't buy this game. Those who want a sporty game
that controls exactly like River City Ransom should grab Dodge Ball - or take solace knowing that Technos never did release Ice Challenge here.
